Schema Markup for Framer: How to Add Structured Data with JSON-LD

Quick answer: Schema markup is code that tells search engines and AI tools what your page is about, such as an organization, an article or a product. In Framer, you add it as JSON-LD in the custom code section of your site or page settings.
Structured data does not guarantee higher rankings. What it does is remove guesswork. When a machine can read “this is a product, it costs this much, made by this company”, it is easier to show your page in rich results and AI answers.
Key takeaways
Use JSON-LD, the format Google recommends
Start with Organization or Person schema site-wide
Add Article schema to blog posts and Product schema to product pages
Always validate before publishing

Which types to use
Schema type | Use it on | Why |
Organization or Person | Whole site | Connects your brand, logo and profiles |
WebSite | Home page | Identifies the site name |
Article or BlogPosting | Blog posts | Author, date and headline |
Product | Template or product pages | Name, price and availability |
FAQPage | Pages with an FAQ | Helps machines read Q and A pairs |
Note that Google shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of sites now. The markup can still help other tools understand your content.
Adding it in Framer
Write your JSON-LD in a script tag with type application/ld+json
For site-wide schema, paste it into the head section of custom code in Site Settings
For a single page, use that page’s custom code settings
Publish, then test the live URL in Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator

Common mistakes
Marking up content that is not visible on the page
Copying a sample and forgetting to change names or URLs
Using the same Article schema on every post with the wrong headline
Adding review stars you did not actually collect
FAQ
Does schema improve rankings directly?
No. It improves understanding and eligibility for rich results, which can raise click-through.
Can I add schema to CMS pages in Framer?
You can add page-level code to the CMS page. Check Framer’s current docs on whether CMS fields can be used inside custom code.
Do AI tools use schema?
Some do as one of many signals. Clear visible content matters more.
