Why I Price My Templates the Way I Do

Why I Price My Templates the Way I Do

Most templates in this store are free to remix. Manner isn’t, and the next one won’t be either. Here’s the honest reasoning behind where I draw the line.

Highlights

  • Free templates are still the best portfolio

  • Real usage beats any mockup

  • Paid templates fund the deeper builds

Free is still the best portfolio

A template that hundreds of people actually ship teaches me more than any mockup could. Real users find the rough edges, push layouts in directions I didn’t plan for, and tell me what’s missing. That’s why the free tier isn’t going anywhere.

What you get, what I get

You get a production-ready site without the agency invoice. I get feedback, reach, and a growing body of public work that brings in custom projects. That trade still holds for every free template in the store.

Where the paid ones fit

Some templates take weeks, not days — more pages, deeper component systems, CMS wiring, and support I actually stand behind. Manner is the first of those, and the next release will be paid too. The free templates stay the front door; the paid ones are for when you need the whole house.
